Carrot seed oil is extracted from the fruit of carrot plant, Daucus Carota. Extracts of carrot seed varies since there are so many species of carrot plant. However, it typically contains three bio-flavonoids, all derivatives of luteolin, a cancer-fighting antioxidant found in many fruits. It has Sun Protection Factor up to 40 also called as SPF 40 hence it is commonly used in the sunscreen lotion. The downside of carrot seed oil is that it has a pungent odor hence not liked by many people in the first go however after 2/3 application people often likes the smell and become addictive.
